Job Description
Title: Senior Buyer
Location: Buffalo, NY
Duration: Direct
Pay Rate: 50 - 60K
Nature & Scope: Buyer is resppnsible for purchasing and procurement of food commodities. Works hand-in-hand with purchasing department and other internal departments to ensure that plant-wide material requirements are met. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Monitoring/controlling/managing inventory and material levels
- Extensive use of ERP/MRP/SAP systems
- Interfaces/negotiates with vendors as needed
Requirements & Qualifications:
- AAS Degree required, BS Degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing/procurement role
- Experience in purchasing food commodities
- High proficiency level with inventory control systems such as MRP, ERP, SAP
- Ability/willingness to travel up to 50%, mostly domestic, rarely international
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills (both written and verbal) for successful interaction across multiple internal departments, with a broad range of personnel, and with customers/vendors as needed
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to multitask and juggle multiple responsibilities, projects, duties simultaneously
